Free Janam Kundli online

A Janam Kundli (birth chart) is a map of where the Sun, Moon, planets and the rising sign stood at the moment and place of birth. Enter a date, time and place of birth to get the full chart free, with each part explained in plain words.

How to use it

  1. Type the name, date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY) and time of birth. If the time is unknown, mark it so.
  2. Choose the birth town from the list, so its latitude, longitude and time zone are exact.
  3. Open the chart. Switch between North and South Indian styles, and read the dasha, yogas and doshas tabs.

What your Kundli shows

  • Lagna (ascendant) chart and Rashi (Moon sign) chart in North or South Indian style.
  • Each planet’s sign, house, degree, nakshatra, pada, dignity and retrograde status.
  • Vimshottari Mahadasha, Antardasha and Pratyantar dasha with start and end dates.
  • Yogas such as Gaja Kesari and Raj yogas, and doshas such as Mangal (Manglik), Kaal Sarp and Pitra dosha, each with the rule that formed it.
  • Navamsa (D9) and other divisional charts, Ashtakavarga, numerology and the annual chart (Varshaphala).

Lagna, Rashi and nakshatra

The Lagna is the zodiac sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth. It changes about every two hours, which is why the birth time matters. The Rashi is the sign the Moon was in, and most daily and weekly horoscopes in India are read from it. The nakshatra is one of 27 lunar mansions the Moon occupied; it sets the starting point of the Vimshottari dasha and the first letter of a traditional name.

Reading the dasha

The Vimshottari dasha divides a 120-year cycle among the nine grahas. The period you are running shows which planet’s themes the tradition expects to be most active. The app lists your current Mahadasha and Antardasha first and explains each in a sentence or two.

Questions people ask

Is this Kundli free?

Yes. You can make five charts without an account and keep more by signing in. The full chart, dasha, yogas and doshas are included.

Which ayanamsa and ephemeris are used?

Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa and the Swiss Ephemeris, with whole-sign houses from the Lagna as in Parashari practice.

What if I do not know my birth time?

Mark the time as unknown. The Moon sign and nakshatra are usually still clear, but the Lagna, houses and exact dasha dates depend on the time, so treat them as approximate.

Can I see the Kundli in Hindi or Tamil?

Yes. Switch the language and the whole chart, including planet, sign and nakshatra names, is shown in Hindi or Tamil.
