Shubh Muhurat: auspicious dates for you
A Shubh Muhurat is a time the Panchang considers favourable for starting something. Vedic Drishti checks every day of the next 12 months against your own birth star and lists the good dates, the good hours on each date, and the times to avoid.
How to use it
- Choose whose chart to use, so the dates are checked against that person’s nakshatra and Moon sign.
- See the best dates in the next 12 months, with the reason each one was chosen.
- Open a date for its checklist and the good times of that day, and note Rahu Kaal to avoid.
What makes a date auspicious
- Tithi: some lunar days, such as Rikta tithis (Chaturthi, Navami, Chaturdashi) and Amavasya, are usually avoided for new beginnings.
- Nakshatra: fixed, soft and swift nakshatras suit different kinds of work.
- Tara bala: the day’s nakshatra counted from your birth nakshatra; some counts are favourable, others are not.
- Chandra bala: the Moon’s sign counted from your Moon sign; the 4th, 8th and 12th are traditionally avoided.
- Within the day: Abhijit muhurat and good Choghadiya periods help, while Rahu Kaal, Yamaganda and Gulika are avoided.
Personal, not generic
Printed calendars list dates that are good in general. A date that is good in general can still be weak for one person because of Tara or Chandra bala. That is why the tool asks for a birth chart and shows which checks passed for that person.
