Vivah Muhurat: wedding dates for a couple

A Vivah Muhurat has to suit two people. This tool checks every day in the period you choose against both the bride’s and the groom’s birth stars, and lists the dates that pass for both, with the Panchang of each date and the reason other days were left out.

How to use it

  1. Choose yourself or a saved person, then add your partner’s birth date, time and town.
  2. Pick how far ahead to look, and whether to include Chaturmas, when many families avoid weddings.
  3. Compare the dates: each shows why it was chosen, its Panchang and the other good times that day.

What is checked for a wedding date

  • Tara bala and Chandra bala for each partner separately; a date must suit both.
  • Nakshatras traditionally used for marriage, such as Rohini, Mrigashira, Magha, Uttara Phalguni, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Mula, Uttara Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati.
  • Tithi and paksha, avoiding Rikta tithis, Ashtami and Amavasya.
  • Kharmas and the weeks when Jupiter or Venus is combust are left out; Chaturmas, from Devshayani to Devuthani Ekadashi, is marked so you can decide.
  • Dates that are favourable for only one partner are shown separately as second choices.

Why other days were left out

A list of dates without reasons is hard to trust. For every month the tool also says which checks removed the other days, so you can discuss them with your family priest or astrologer, who may also consider Lagna shuddhi and local custom.

Questions people ask

Is it free?

Yes. Finding wedding dates for a couple is free.

Why do I need both birth details?

A date can be good for one partner’s birth star and weak for the other’s. Checking both is what makes a Vivah Muhurat personal.

What if no dates are found?

Try a longer period, such as 18 months, or include Chaturmas. Some combinations of birth stars leave few qualifying days.
