Kundli Milan: free Kundli matching for marriage
Kundli Milan (horoscope matching) compares the birth charts of two people before marriage. Vedic Drishti scores the traditional Ashtakoota Guna Milan out of 36, checks Manglik status for both partners, and explains each part instead of giving only a number.
How to use it
- Add the first person’s date, time and place of birth, or pick a saved person.
- Add the second person the same way and choose the purpose of the match.
- See the 36-point score, each koota’s points, the dosha checks, and what each result means.
The eight kootas of Guna Milan
- Varna (1 point) and Vashya (2): temperament and mutual influence.
- Tara (3) and Yoni (4): wellbeing and physical compatibility.
- Graha Maitri (5): friendship between the Moon-sign lords.
- Gana (6): nature, as Deva, Manushya or Rakshasa.
- Bhakoot (7): the Moon signs’ relative position, linked to family life and finances.
- Nadi (8): the highest-weighted koota, linked to health and progeny.
Manglik, Nadi and Bhakoot dosha
Mangal dosha is read when Mars occupies certain houses from the Lagna, Moon or Venus. Tradition also lists cancellations, such as both partners being Manglik, and the app names the rule that applies. Nadi dosha arises when both share the same Nadi, and Bhakoot dosha from certain Moon-sign pairs; both have recognised exceptions, which are shown with the result.
Many families treat 18 or more of 36 as acceptable, but the score is one input. Read the details, and for a serious decision talk it over with family and an astrologer you trust.
Questions people ask
Is Kundli matching free?
Yes. Matching two people, the full 36-point breakdown and the Manglik check are free.
Can I match Kundlis by name only?
No. Name-based matching uses only a guessed nakshatra. Matching needs each person’s date, time and place of birth, so the Moon’s nakshatra and the houses are calculated rather than assumed.
What is a good Guna Milan score?
By tradition 18 or more out of 36 is considered acceptable and higher is more harmonious, but a dosha or its cancellation can matter more than a few points.
Does it check Tamil porutham?
The score uses the North Indian Ashtakoota system. South Indian Dasa Porutham uses different factors, so the two scores are not directly comparable.
